Conflicting feelings after being laid off are common like relief (if it was a toxic workplace) mixed with terror if the salary and benefits were crucial to your livelyhood. One minute you might be feeling hopeful and the next extremely frustrated.
If you lost your job during a mass layoff you might know that it was not your fault but also suffer shame from stigma in a status-conscious society. Many people experience self-doubt during the job hunt and are unsure what to say about the layoff. You might feel pressure to act in a certain way around family, friends, or colleagues and have no where to speak openly about what's really going on.
